Our Daily Devotion For 21st May 2025 Wednesday
Title: “Be Perfect as Your Father Is Perfect”
Main Scripture: Matthew 5:48 (KJV) “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”
Devotional Message:
This verse from Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount calls us to a radical standard: perfection, like the Heavenly Father. At first glance, it may seem impossible—but Jesus is not demanding flawlessness. The Greek word for “perfect” (teleios) speaks of maturity, completeness, and wholeness.
Jesus is calling us to grow into the full character of God, especially in how we love. In the verses before this one (Matthew 5:43–47), Jesus teaches about loving our enemies, blessing those who curse us, and praying for those who persecute us. That kind of love is what makes us reflect the Father’s heart.
This verse reminds us that the Christian walk is not about staying in spiritual infancy. God’s goal is to form Christ in us (Galatians 4:19), so that we become whole, mature believers who live with grace, mercy, and unwavering love.
Today, don’t strive for human perfection—but yield to the Spirit who perfects you daily. Let love be your aim, and Christ your model.

Prayer:
Father in Heaven, Thank You for calling me to maturity in Christ. I know I fall short on my own, but through Your Spirit, I am being shaped into the image of Your Son. Teach me to love like You do—without condition, without limit. Help me to grow in patience, grace, and truth. May my life reflect the completeness of Your character and the fullness of Your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
