It may feel like you’re behind a closed door. In your health, you can’t seem to get well. In your finances, you’re working hard but not getting ahead. In your relationships, everything keeps falling through. Stay encouraged; those closed doors are not permanent. The Most High God is your doorkeeper. He’s in control of what opens and what closes.
You can’t go around with a defeated mindset. The scripture says, “What you fear is going to come upon you.” Quit living out of fear and start living out of faith. “Father, thank You that my health is invisible to the enemy, that I will run and not be weary, that with long life You will satisfy me.”

Joel finally agreed to preach the next Sunday, and his father passed the following week. Joel’s first sermon was the last his father ever heard. Joel and his wife, Victoria, were suddenly thrust into full-time leadership of Lakewood Church.
