Redemption Ministries Bible Study Outline 16th February 2021 – Walking In Victory: The Sure Pathway In 2021 (2)

TOPIC: WALKING IN VICTORY: THE SURE PATHWAY IN 2021 (3)

BIBLE TEXTS: NUM 13:27-33; JOSHUA 6:1-5; JUDGES 6:1-6; EPH 6:10-18; 1 TIM 6:12-13

HINDRANCES TO MAXIMUM IMPACT IN VICTORY (1)
Memory Verse: “Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.” – 1 Thess. 2:18

No one wins the battles of life from the ease and comfort of his home while sipping a cup of tea. We are daily engaged in warfare that guarantees victory. God did not promise us a hitch free sojourn here on earth but assured us of a final landing at our destination with the shout of Hallelujah.
“These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

In as much as we have glorious promises of victory over us, there are always battles we must be ready to decisively confront and conquer if we walk according to the precepts of our Lord. Some of these hindrances include:

1. THE FLESH: Rom. 8:9-13; Gal 5:17-21; Eph. 6:12; Col. 3:5-9; James 5:1-3: Though we wrestle not against flesh and blood, we actually do wrestle, battle, and fight against the unjustifiable demands and desires of our personal flesh. Even with our being born again, the flesh and mind remain susceptible to carnal desires which do hinder our spiritual growth and ability to walk in victory hence the need to MORTIFY the deeds of our body. Your flesh is your potential number ONE enemy if not brought under the control of the cross (crucified).

David suffered shipwreck even as God’s favored servant in the area of immorality. As anointed as Samson was, the crazy demand for sex did cost him his power and relegated him to the background of victorious men. Why do you still smoke, occasionally fall back on drinking alcohol, have a usual craving for cult activities? etc. Unless you take care of your fleshly lust, you are likely to be destroyed.

This menace has no regard for position, does not spare those in authority and has no respect for the rights you will in life. Marriages that shook the nation have crumbled because of the same fleshy war. Renown men that reached the pinnacle of their career have been brought down by this same snare. Sanctification is a panacea to this. Are you sanctified? Victory in life is short lived until the flesh is taken care of.

2. THE WORLD: John 15:19; 1 John 2:15-17: Dictionary defines worldliness as “having concern with material values or ordinary life rather than spiritual existence.” To be worldly is to have an unusual affection for the satisfaction of the flesh at all cost and expense of your soul despite the doctrinal position of your church. The alluring attraction of the world has done more harm than good.

The conspiracy theory of it doesn’t matter has succeeded in wedding the church and the world. Worldliness now triumphs in the church and Jesus is wounded again as in the days of doubting Apostle Thomas. Where are the daughters of Zion helping the church to be holy as it was in the beginning?

3. THE SCOURGE OF UNBELIEF: Num. 14:23-30; Matt. 13:54-58; Mark 10:27; Heb. 3:10-19: Unbelief (inability to take God at His word) does not change the position of God on any subject matter but rather sets the man involved in the devil’s dragnet of failure and woes. Many people have been robbed of their blessings because of the sin of unbelief.

Abraham became the father of Ishmael because of unbelief. The Israelites paid dearly for their exercise of unbelief as they were repeatedly beaten at the battlefields or abandoned by God to fend for themselves. The worst that can befall a man is to have the keys that open the gates of victory in his hands and yet walk through life in unbelief.
