TOPIC: WALKING IN VICTORY: THE SURE PATHWAY IN 2021 (5)
HIGHWAY TO VICTORY
TEXT: JOSHUA 1:1-6; 1 JOHN 5:1-5.
Scripture: “Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me”. – John 14:5-6.
We have spent two weeks exploring the likely hindrances that can prevent us from walking in victory in 2021. Interestingly, God has reserved several HIGHWAYS we can equally explore for each hindrance the enemy may bring on our way. In today’s study, we will take an analytical view of two spiritual tools we can effectively deploy to not only walk but run in victory.
1. FAITH: Num 14:26-33; Josh. 1:1-6; Heb. 11:1-36. The language of faith is indomitable, conquer-able, never giving up, it is possible, etc. despite experimental evidence. Yes, the land may have the likes of Anakims, walled all round but our God on whose strength we rely is well able to break through any obstacle. The medical report may indicate doom, however, we have He who restores life with us. To accomplish this, you need to:
RECEIVE Jesus as your Lord and Saviour who will be able to pilot your activities based on the spoken word.
RESIST the devil and the temptation to think you cannot do without him.
REMOVE every stumbling block that will slow down your rate of success. For Abraham, it was the fear of human evaluation of his wife not being able to deliver that made him to yield to other options, Moses had a damaging degree of anger that eventually earned him the foreclosure of the promise land, for Aaron, it was the fear of the people and what they will say and probably do that led him into wholesale backsliding by building a molten calf and calling it their gods. Samson, David, Solomon shared the common trait of unquenchable desire for women. Each man, the plague of his heart. It is either you take care of it or it takes care of you, 1 Kings 8:37-40.
REJECT every suggestion that victory is not achievable. You are a product of the accomplished victory on the cross. You cannot be brought down. Your mind must be renewed.
RELY on and RECITE God’s word. It works. It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. John 6:63.
2. PRAYER: 1 Kings 17:1-4; 18:41-46; Phil. 4:6. Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. James 5:17. True power and genuine control of times and seasons does not rest on the shoulders of those in the Government. Daniel stepped into the godless city of Babylon as a captive victim. Through prayers, he redefined his position and redesigned the architecture of what happened in Government. He was often preferred than others at his level. You can work out your victory in the place of prayer. Note that we are under spiritual obligation to decree a thing and it shall be established. Job 22:28-29.
