“Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves” was not an indictment but rather a firm warning to take heed and equally an assurance of the fulcrum on which victory revolves. By this, two clear distinctions were established

Wisdom must precede warfare and Virtue must come before victory.
Military officers will tell us how much they cherish their intelligent unit. Wisdom the Bible reiterates is the PRINCIPAL ( HEAD) thing and largely recommends that we ALL GET IT.  The arm of flesh will surely fail. Purity of heart grants us audience with God who is the source of our victory whereas ignorance opens up our vulnerability to satanic influence and attack. If we must fight gallantly then we cannot under rate  the role of purity.

THE BATTLE GROUND OR WARFRONT: LUKE 13:1-5.

It has been said that life from the cradle through civilization and just before the grave is war. Surviving it depends on our understanding of the antics, demands and strategies the devil deploys on one hand and our ability to also understand the ways of God. Hosea 4:6. This is why the bible enjoins us to WATCH, and to pray without ceasing. We must take note of this and also note that even when our victory is assured and proclaimed we still have to fight on In Order to stay on. Very many have been dislodged at this delicate moment of victory. How did Haman recommend the promotion of the man he had earmarked for burial?  It was at the peak of his success. Let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he falls. Have you ever imagined that:-

Gen. :26-31; 2:16-17; 3:1-6.    Adam was in the garden of Eden ( God’s own ground) where God occasionally paid him visits and yet he fell. Whatever lofty spiritual plane you find yourself in, you must walk, work and war with the consciousness that you are in a battleground. Lest the enemy strikes at an unguarded moment. Adam and his wife Eve became pliable and gullible tools in the hands of the devil and they never recovered from the calamity that befell them. The rich also cry and the mighty do fall. Sadly, Adam became a fugitive in the land he was given full control over. You have to wrestle not to end up as a sample in the devil’s workshop..

Prov. 4:20-23; 7: 23-27; Remember that Solomon with all his wisdom truly excelled and proceeded to write three books of the bible ( Proverbs, Ecclesiastics and Songs of Solomon). Yet with all his glory and the timely warnings about the consequences of neglecting instructions in life. He became a victim of the same issues he warned against. Success indeed is a battle! It is easier to manage failure than success.

We must only make our boast in Christ guided by His word. You will remember that Lucifer was once a praise team leader directly in God’s own worship center. How did he end up? He was dethroned, banished and excommunicated. Isaiah 14:12-15. For every single achievement, there is a corresponding battle to fight. That is why most people dedicate their victories to God refusing to swallow the glory. Ps 34:1-2; 1Cor. 9:24-27. Has your promotion not drawn you away from God? Where is the substance from your promotion and has God tasted of it? Life is TRANSIENT! Beware!

How did Ahithophel, a man of proficiency with prolific articulation in counseling matters, a man that apparently knew when and where to meet with God to draw counsel for EVERY OCCASION without fail ( 2 Sam 16:23) end up? What of Judas Iscariot, who was so privileged to walk with Christ and despite repeated warnings that…
