Scripture Union Daily Guide 13 January 2026 Outline
God’s judgment was inevitable, and the Lord said that even if Moses and Samuel were to intercede for the people, He would not change His mind in favour of His people (Jeremiah 15:1). The Lord declared that the level of disconnection between Him and His people would not be remedied by intercession. Notice the four destinations and four destroyers He appointed for His wayward people (Jeremiah 15:2-3).
Note that the impending disaster was coming in response to the people’s continuous disobedience to God’s instructions, rather than a single act of wickedness (Jeremiah 15:4,6). We need to promptly and daily repent of our sins, or risk divine punishment following prolonged provocation. The need for repentance is further emphasized as the Lord warns His people of the various disasters in store for them due to their sins (Jeremiah 15:5-9,14-15).
Note Jeremiah’s outcry in Jeremiah 15:10 and the Lord’s answer (Jeremiah 15:11-14). Also, notice his commitment to the Lord in Jeremiah 15:15-18 and God’s response in Jeremiah 15:19-21!
