Scripture Union Daily Guide 13th March 2025 Outline

On Balaam’s instruction, Balak raised seven altars and offered burnt offerings on them. What was the intention of Balak? You cannot curse who God has blessed (Numbers 23:8). A curse against the righteous cannot stand (Numbers 23:21; Proverbs 26:2). Sadly, this is still the story of many people today including some misguided believers who run after so-called prophets or men of God. Thank God for the privilege to boldly and freely approach the throne of grace because the highest price has already been paid on our behalf – not the blood of bulls and rams but the blood of the Son of God (Hebrews 10:19-22).

Balaam received God’s instruction to bless Israel and not to curse them (Numbers 23:8). Identify the blessings Balaam pronounced on the people of God in Numbers 22:9-10. Thus far, Balaam obeyed God. As Christians, we have also received the instruction to bless and not to curse (Luke 6:28, Romans 12:14). Even when we are maltreated, the commandment remains unchanged. How well are you heeding God’s instructions? When we are in a covenant relationship with God, we are partakers of His divine blessings (Genesis 12:3; Ephesians 1:3).
