Scripture Union Daily Guide 21st February 2025 Outline:

The Priesthood is a gift and a privilege. It is also a serious responsibility with guidelines and principles, which cannot be carried out casually (Numbers 18:2-7). Neither is it a right to be demanded but a gift to be utilized profitably with gratitude. “To bear iniquity in connection with the sanctuary” (Numbers 18:1) means the priests are to take all the risks and penalties involved in approaching the sanctuary (read Numbers 18:1 from NIV). We who are believers are God’s priests today. See 1 Peter 2:9 and note the seriousness, privilege, and principles attached to our priesthood.

Read Numbers 18: 8-15a carefully and notice the provisions that the Lord made for His servants. In the same way, God is the one who provides for all His children today. All of us who belong to the royal Priesthood can always look up to Him for His provision (Philippians 4:19). However, we all have the responsibility to bring our tithes and offerings to the Lord so He can, through them, supply the needs of our fulltime pastors and Christian workers (our Aarons and Levites). Apart from the provision of resources, notice the primary portion of the priests of God (Numbers 18:20)? God never owes any of His dedicated workers in His vineyard.

* Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?
Closing Prayer: Father, thank you for the privilege of being your priest and the assurance of your provision for my needs.
