Opening Prayer: Open my eyes O Lord that I might behold wondrous things from your word in Jesus name.

Observe the many reasons given by the psalmist for which we should praise God – His unfailing love, never-ending faithfulness, marvellous works…. Find out other reasons and add two from your own experience? Praising and thanking God is good in itself and pleasant for us. As we meditate on God’s nature and work, our thinking will be changed. Let us intentionally open our eyes and discover the beauty that we so often miss.
How do you feel when a colleague who is always playing evil tricks and trampling on others succeeds in everything he does? Does it look like he has God’s favour (Psalms 92:7)? The wicked withers like grass, suffers judgment and is destroyed if he does not repent from his or her iniquity.
Observe how, on the other hand, the psalmist describes the righteous in Psalms 92:10,12-14. Though we live in a world of unfaithfulness where friends betray us, let us not despair because we serve a God who is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). Those who remain true to the Lord will ultimately prosper.
And So:
Give thanks to God in everything…. (1 Thessalonians 5:18). Do that right now.

THANK GOD FOR:
* He cares for and understands all his children • He makes all things beautiful in his time • It is his will for his children to prosper
PRAY FOR:
* God to provide jobs for our unemployed brethren • God to open the eyes of such brethren to doors of opportunities God has opened for them to be gainfully employed • Them to trust in the Lord with all their hearts and not lean on their own understanding as they go about looking for jobs
