Scripture Union Daily Guide 31st March 2025 Outline

God instructed the children of Israel to observe the feast of Tabernacles. He gave them directives regarding the way it should be carried out. What does this tell us about God? The offerings for the feast were to be presented to God for seven days and on the eighth day of the feast was to be a sacred assembly. It was on the last day of such feast that Jesus invited those who are thirsty to come to Him (John 7:37-39).

The nature of the offerings as instructed by God were to be without blemish. See Numbers 29:13,17. This shows another nature of God which He also demonstrated by offering His son who was without sin (cf. 2 Corinthians 5:21). These offerings were to be for various types including sin offering but God’s offering of Jesus Christ is once for all. It is also superior as it is not of animals but of God’s only begotten Son (Hebrews 9:24-28).

In Numbers 29:40, Moses obeyed the Lord and conveyed His message to them. In the same vein, God expects us to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice without blemish. This can only be possible when we surrender to Him and obey all His commands.

And So:
What makes the offering of Jesus a far better one? See Hebrews 10:4,10-14.
* Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

Closing Prayer:
Lord, I offer myself to you as a living sacrifice without blemish.
