TODAY’S TOPIC: THE EXCHANGES AT CALVARY
SCRIPTURE: When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses. Matthew 8: 16-17.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: At the Cross of Calvary, Jesus took away our sicknesses and diseases.
It has been established that the Cross of Calvary is the final straw that broke the back of the devil and the gates of hell. At the Cross of Calvary, many changes or exchanges happened.
Now, let us see examples of the exchange or exchanges that took place at the Cross of Calvary:
i) At the Cross of Calvary, Christ took our sins and gave us His Righteousness.
2 Corinthians 5:21 says,
For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
He took our sin and exchanged or replaced it with His Righteousness at the Cross of Calvary.
ii) At the Cross of Calvary, Christ took our sickness and gave us His health
The second exchange that took place at the Cross of Calvary is, Christ took our sickness and gave us His health. This is why Isaiah 53:4-5 says,
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
At the Cross of Calvary, Jesus took away our sicknesses and diseases (Matthew 8:16-17)
So, at the Cross of Calvary, there was an exchange – Christ took our sickness and weakness and gave us His health, strength and vitality.
Remember this: At the Cross of Calvary, Jesus took away our sicknesses and diseases.
