THOUGHT FOR THE DAY
God cares about my future and will prepare the way.
“I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
We will send our beloved dog Marley to my parents’ house soon. My husband was given a new international assignment by his employer, so we will be moving and cannot take her with us. It is hard sending Marley away, but we are comforted to know that she will be loved by my parents and all the other family members who live near them. While Marley doesn’t have any knowledge of her future, we are preparing everything in her best interests.

I realized that, just like Marley, I am loved and my parent in heaven is preparing everything for me. While it is still hard for me to leave the comfortable life we have in our own country, I can step into uncertainty knowing that God is with me. We may not always understand why things happen the way they do. Sometimes, all we can do is trust and obey God.
Through caring for my beloved dog, the Lord has shown me a piece of God’s heart. God is so good! We cannot fully grasp God’s love for us, but our Creator wants us to understand that we are loved and that God cares about our future.
TODAY’S PRAYER
Dear Lord, when we cannot understand the things that are happening, give us strength to trust and obey you. Amen.
