Message | Daily Guide 21 April 2022 | Scripture Union Devotional

It is very commendable that God saw the righteousness of Noah in this corrupt and very sinful generation (v.1).

This is repeated by Lot who was the only righteous man in the city of Sodom (Genesis 19). It is amazing that God kept His promises to individuals out of thousands of people. Before God, it is not an issue of the majority but your individual relationship with Him. Why you? We are warned never to follow the majority (multitude or crowd) to do wrong (Exodus 23:2).

Is it not dangerous to go against the majority? Being in a sound relationship with God means you are in a sure place of safety where no one will separate you from Him. In the ark, Noah was safe. Are you in the ark with the Lord in this perverse generation? Living for God develops great faith in Him even in the most unexpected situations. Reflect on Noah’s faith in God.

He laboured to build a ship away from the sea. Does it make sense to you? What would you have done were you living during Noah’s days? We may not be wrong to say that many saw him as out of his mind. God saved him because of his faith and obedience. Are you living in obedience to God? God’s final judgment is underway. Have you climbed to the place of safety?

Practice/Word Application
So what? Read and reflect on Psalm 23.
