THOUGHT FOR THE DAY

God is always available.

Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. – Luke 18:1 (NIV)

I have recently found myself frustrated with how difficult it is to communicate in today’s world. Many medical providers are so busy it takes several weeks or months to see a doctor. And recently, I was trying to fix a billing problem over the phone and was transferred to three different people before I connected with the right person. She didn’t seem very happy to be talking to me, but we finally resolved the issue.

Communication is hard, especially with large organizations. This makes me keenly appreciate the privilege of prayer. Interacting with God isn’t limited to certain hours. There is no waiting; the Almighty is always available. And when we pray to God, our Creator is delighted to hear from us. We know we are talking to the right person because God knows us better than we know ourselves.

God wants us to pray. We see this command all over the Bible. We were created to have a relationship with God, and prayer is the best place to start.

TODAY’S PRAYER
Gracious and loving God, thank you for the privilege of allowing us to talk to you — anytime, anywhere. Help us to embrace the gift of prayer so that we can grow closer to you. Amen.
