Anglican Daily Fountain 28th February 2024 (Devotional Today)

Welcome to Today’s Daily Fountain Devotional of the Anglican Church of Nigeria. Daily Fountain is a daily reading devotional for all Anglicans and Non-Anglicans to read, study, share and discuss the Word of God on a daily basis.

TOPIC: TRUST IN GOD ALWAYS

TEXT: Psalm 62: 1-12(KJV)
62:1. Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.
62:2. He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.
62:3. How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.
62:4. They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.
62:5. My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

62:6. He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.
62:7. In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.
62:8. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
62:9. Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.
62:10. Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.
62:11. God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.
62:12. Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

Anglican Daily Fountain 28th February 2024 STUDY:

David, in this Psalm addresses himself, others, and God. Of himself, he says that he silently waits on God for his salvation, defence, expectation, strength and refuge. He is not happy with the wicked who destroy, lie and curse inwardly. He advises people to trust in God always and pray to Him, not to trust in oppression, not to hope in robbery, and not set their hearts on increased riches. He insists that power and mercy belong to God who rewards each person according to his work.

Every Christian should strive to know God, trust Him, obey Him, pray to Him, and build a personal, strong relationship with Him. This can be done by having an intentional Disciplined Daily Devotion (3Ds) when you rise up early to be with the Lord in Bible study and Prayers. Jesus Christ left us an example (Mark 1: 35). Others may put their trust in man, money, connections, beauty, position, power or in their ancestry but you, child of God, should put your trust in God always for He is faithful (Deut.7: 9; 1 Cor. 1: 9). Do you have a special need? Trust that the lord will meet you at the point of your need!

PRAYER: Father; help me to trust in You always in Jesus’ name. Amen.
