Daily Devotional October 15, 2026: Walking by Faith, Not by Sight
Today’s Scripture: 2 Corinthians 5:7
“(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)”
When the Evidence Says Otherwise
Sight tells us what is in front of us: the bank balance, the test result, the closed door, the unanswered message. Faith tells us who is behind it all. Paul wrote this short line to believers who were living with real uncertainty, and he did not tell them to ignore what they saw. He told them what to follow instead.
What the Verse Teaches
Faith Is a Way of Walking
Paul uses the word “walk.” Faith is not only a feeling or an opinion. It shows up in steps: praying, obeying and moving forward before everything is clear.
Sight Is Real but Not Final
Faith does not deny hard facts. It simply refuses to let them have the last word. What we see today is not all that God is doing.
Faith Rests on God’s Character
We can walk without seeing because we know who leads us. Trust grows as we remember His faithfulness in the past.
Reflection Questions
- Where am I letting what I see decide what I do?
- What step of faith is God asking me to take today?
- When has God been faithful to me in a season I could not understand?
Today’s Action Step
Write down one situation where you are walking without seeing. Beside it, write one small step of obedience you can take today, then pray over it before you leave home.
Closing Prayer
Father, I cannot see the whole road, but I trust You. Help me to walk by faith today and to take the next step You show me. Amen.
