Daily Devotional October 27, 2026: Do Not Grow Weary in Doing Good
Today’s Scripture: Galatians 6:9-10
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.”
When Kindness Feels Unseen
You may be serving a family member, supporting a friend, working honestly or helping at church, and few people notice. After a while, even kind hearts get tired. Paul understood this, so he gave a promise to those who keep going.
What the Passage Teaches
Weariness Is Normal
Paul does not say weariness never comes. He says do not let it win. Doing good over a long time requires strength beyond our own.
Harvest Takes Time
“In due season” means the timing is God’s. A farmer plants long before harvest. Quiet faithfulness today is seed for something later.
Opportunity Is the Invitation
“As we have therefore opportunity” suggests that each day brings small chances: a message, a meal, a listening ear. God asks us to notice and respond, starting with those closest to us.
Reflection Questions
- Where am I close to giving up on doing good?
- Who needs a small act of kindness from me this week?
- Do I trust God with the “due season” instead of demanding results now?
Today’s Action Step
Choose one person and do one practical good thing for them today, such as a call, a meal or help with a task. Do it quietly and ask God to bless it.
Closing Prayer
Father, renew my strength when I grow tired of doing good. Help me to sow faithfully and trust You with the harvest. Show me today’s opportunity and give me a willing heart. Amen.
