Scripture Union Daily Guide 2 April 2022 Devotional | Outline
Man became worse when he was left on his own. Life outside of God and His purpose for us is a tragedy. However, God in His grace enabled man to invent items that made life possible and enjoyable (vs.20‐22).
How do you use the things the Lord has provided for you in this life? It is worthy to notice the two groups of people who emerged over time: 1. Those who were indifferent to sin and evil (vs.23,24) and 2. Those who worshipped and honoured the Lord (v.26). To which of these two groups do you belong? You can become instrumental to introducing light into your dark environment, breaking the evil jinx: family, school, office, neighbourhood etc.
See Matthew 5:13‐16. You can be today’s Enosh (v.26). Lamech may be the first polygamist recorded. He was also a confessed murderer. What kind of confession is this (vs.23‐24)? In mentioning Cain, he was aware of some family history in the last four to five generations. Unfortunately, his confession lacked any sense of repentance and had no hope of forgiveness. But in the gospel, there is challenge to repentance and offer of forgiveness.
Practice/Word Application
So what? Some people believe that there is so much evil today that it is better to flow with the current. Pray that God will use you and your family to prove that in Jesus Christ, Christians are able to swim against the current.
