TOPIC: GOOD NEWS ONLY

SCRIPTURE: “When thou art departed from me to day, then thou shalt find two men by Rachel’s sepulchre in the border of Benjamin at Zelzah; and they will say unto thee, The asses which thou wentest to seek are found: and, lo, thy father hath left the care of the asses, and sorroweth for you, saying, What shall I do for my son?” (1 Samuel 10: 2)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.

After the announcement of his kingship by Samuel, Saul was to come in contact with two men at Rachel’s sepulcher. Rachel was the mother of Benjamin, the patriarch of Saul’s tribe. Rachel died during childbirth (see Genesis 35 vs. 15-18). The birth of a child is good news ordinarily, but Rachel’s childbirth was marred by her own death. Good news was laced with bad news. Rachel came to her good news but didn’t live to enjoy it.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: your good news will not be marred with bad news. Your good news will not be interrupted by the hand of the enemy. Your throne will not arrive with mourning and pain; your advancement will not come with hidden troubles that will manifest and make a mess of everything; your blessings will not come with sorrow; your portion will not be wrapped in pain and disgrace.

Rachel got so close to her good news, but was not alive to enjoy it. Hear me again: you will not come close to your good news and not enjoy it. You will not come close to greatness and not step into it. You will not come close to your throne and not sit on it; you will not come close to your crown and not wear it; you will not be counted among those who saw their Promised Land without stepping into it.

Get set: as you come close to your good news, it shall become your reality; as you come close to your new doors and gates, you will step into it; as you come close to your divine portion, it shall enter into your hands; as you come face to face with the opportunities that God has ordained for you, you will take them; as you come close to your throne, you will sit on it; as you approach your crowns, your head will wear them.

No more shall you come close to your good news and not possess it. No longer shall your good news be mixed with bad news.

James 1: 17 says: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”

Declare With Me: My good news will not be mixed with bad news, in Jesus’ name!
