Conflicts in marriage very often border, among other things, on poor sexual relationship between spouses. This sometimes leads to separation or divorce. To save face, some endure and stay together with a lot of strife. It should not be so for Christian couples. God instituted marriage for companionship (Genesis 2:18,24) and to be consummated in pleasurable sex. In today’s passage consider the woman’s willingness and invitation to such (4:16).
Read and reflect on 4:12-5:1 again. Take note of the phrases used to describe the bride’s virginity (v.12). This bride has kept herself exclusively for her husband. Our African culture values and celebrates virginity but it is fast becoming a lost value. Is there anything we can do to return to those cherished and very biblical values?
The bride invites her lover into his garden (v.16); before marriage, her body was hers; after wedding, her body now belongs to her husband – all that she is and has now belongs to him and he partakes of them freely (5:1). See Paul’s advice to husbands and wives in 1 Corinthians 7:4-5
Note that a healthy marital romance is noticeable by neighbours (see Genesis 26:8-9). The King and his choicest wife were noticed by the young women of Jerusalem.

FINANCE FOR SU PORT HARCOURT REGION
‘Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the first fruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine’.
Proverbs. 3: 9-10
THANK GOD FOR:
• His continual help in the provision of finance for the work of the Region.
• Brethren who have made themselves available and are faithful at ensuring that fund is available for the work in the Region.
PRAY FOR:
• God to uplift brethren in their businesses and work places for financial increase as most financiers in the Region are now retired and a few approaching retirement.
• Willingness on the part of brethren to get involved in faithfully financing the work as the Lord blesses them.
• The unemployed in the Region to find favour in getting paid employment\/divine leading in businesses that will improve their welfare, finances and the finance of the Region.
PRAY AGAINST:
• All forces of the enemy working against the finances of brethren in the Region through unemployment, denial of contracts for which they are qualified to handle etc.
