Scripture Union SU Daily Guide 15th August 2021 – Let Everything Praise The Lord
SCRIPTURE UNION SU DAILY GUIDE 15 AUGUST 2021
TOPIC: LET EVERYTHING PRAISE THE LORD
OPENING PRAYER: Oh Lord, grant me divine guidance as I read and meditate on your word in Jesus name.
Scripture: Psalm 150:1-6
Question(s) for Reflection
• Is there any command for me to obey?
This great and popular Psalm tells us where to praise God (v.1). God should be praised in His sanctuary – the Christian temples, chapels and all Christian meeting places. A lot of space is given for praise to God. ‘The mighty heavens’ refers to the entire universe. God’s people are free to praise Him wherever they are. Remember, your body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19). Now read Psalm 149:3 and then Psalm 150:3-5.

The Lord’s name should be praised with dancing, with tambourine and lyre, lute and harp, strings (guitars, violins, ukulele, etc) and pipe, cymbals, various drums. Find out how these instruments feature in today’s Gospel and Church music, hymns and songs. Are there some local musical instruments you need to incorporate into your worship to make it more meaningful? Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. That includes you.
