STREAMS OF JOY 5TH JULY 2021 DAILY DEVOTIONAL TODAY

TOPIC: MERCY SPEAKS

NSPPD Live Stream 5th July 2021 Morning Prayer with Pastor Jerry Eze

SCRIPTURE: “And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.” (Mark 10: 47)

That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
In our Focal Scripture, blind Bartimaeus cried out to Jesus for mercy. He was in a place called blindness; he needed to go to a better place called sight; and he cried out to Jesus for mercy. He cried for mercy to connect him to where he wanted to be. He cried for mercy to change his situation and take away the bad condition he was suffering. He cried for mercy to rewrite his story. He cried for mercy to give him a better life than he currently had.

Friend, the mercy of God will speak for you. By the mercies of the Lord, you will be transported from where you are now to where you have always desired to be. By the mercies of God, you are rising above the struggles that kept you at a spot. By the mercies of God, the mistakes that should work against you will be wiped away. By the mercies of God, what was not done for others will be done for you. By the mercies of God, the doors that were shut against you shall be opened.

The word ‘mercy’ as used in that scripture comes from the Greek word ‘channan’, which means ‘to stoop in kindness to an inferior’. So Bartimaeus was simply asking Jesus to come down from His high estate and show him kindness. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you are about to receive kindness from God. God will stoop in kindness towards you; God will stoop to do for you what you cannot do for yourself; God will stoop to help you.

Bartimaeus received mercy, and his situation did not remain the same. He received mercy, and mercy took him out of where he was and took him into a new level. Hear me as I hear the Lord: the mercy of God is repositioning you on a new, higher level. The mercy of God is granting you a new lease of life. The mercy of God is causing you to receive testimonies that sound like lies. The mercy of God is opening new gates for you.

That same mercy that repositioned Bartimaeus on a higher level will reposition you. That same mercy that changed the story of Bartimaeus will change your story.

Psalm 86: 15 says: “But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth.”

Declare With Me: Mercy speaks for me, in Jesus’ name!
