TODAY’S TOPIC: DOORS CAN BE SHUT
SCRIPTURE: “And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.” (Matthew 25:10)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
Our Focal Scripture makes mention of the heartbreaking moment when the door that led into the marriage feast with the Bridegroom, was shut. The foolish virgins came close, but their mistake of not having oil and going out at the wrong time to buy, denied them the opportunity to be part of what they arrived at. They came to the brink of their Promised Land, but they could not enter because the door was shut in their absence.
Friend, in 2023, bear in mind that doors can be shut. There are times when it may appear that God has had enough of your unseriousness, and He may leave you out of His plans. There may be times when God Himself will get fed up with the errors you have repeatedly failed to correct, and He would leave you to your own devices. There may be times when doors will be shut at you because you were neither ready nor available.
Don’t wait for doors to be shut at you before you become more serious with your prayer altar. Don’t wait for the doors of major opportunities to be shut at you before you raise your game and improve your capacity. Don’t wait for the doors of your new season to be shut at you before you disconnect yourself from the old. Don’t wait for the days of your visitation to be over before you remember to become who you should have become.
If only the foolish virgins had the wisdom to buy oil on time, they wouldn’t have had the door shut at them. They had the capacity to eventually buy the oil, so why didn’t they just buy it on time? In 2023, why wait for doors to be shut at you before you buy your oil? Why wait for opportunities to pass you by before you become a better person? Why wait for the season of your visitation to pass by you before you become who you ought to be?
Don’t be counted amongst them that wait for doors to be shut before they rise to the occasion. Wake up, dust up yourself, and become a burning and shining light before doors are shut at you.
1 Corinthians 9: 27 (TPT) says: “but I train like a champion athlete. I subdue my body and get it under my control, so that after preaching the good news to others I myself won’t be disqualified.”
Declare With Me: In 2023, I will not wait for doors to be shut at me before I rise to the occasion, in Jesus’ name!
