STREAMS of Joy Devotional, 22nd October 2023 (Pastor Jerry Eze)
PASTOR JERRY EZE DAILY DEVOTIONAL FOR SUNDAY 22 OCTOBER 2023
Study and Meditate on Today’s Streams of Joy Daily Devotional for 22nd October 2023 written by Pastor Jerry Eze. God bless you!
TODAY’S TOPIC: DIVINELY JUSTIFIED
SCRIPTURE: “And king David said, Call me Zadok the priest, and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they came before the king.” (1 Kings 1: 32)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
Prior to the emergence of Solomon as king, David summoned three men in our Focal Scripture, and the trio played roles in the rising of Solomon. One of the men whom David summoned, was Zadok. The name ‘Zadok’ means ‘just’ or ‘righteous’. So the platform for the release of the anointing upon Solomon for a higher level, was justification and righteousness. There was need for a right standing with God in order for Solomon to rise higher.
Notice that righteousness and justification is not about being made perfect by your works. It is about receiving the nature of Christ by your confession and faith. Justification is when righteousness is imputed on you because of the finished work of Christ. Justification is not being sanctimonious or pious. Justification does not mean you have done everything right. It simply means you have accepted the finished work of Christ.
Friend, one major reason why heaven will take you higher, is the finished work of Christ that has paved the way for your justification. You may not ordinarily be qualified for the realms that God wants to take you to, but the imputed righteousness of God on you will cause God to take you there. You may even disqualify yourself, but the justification of Christ will position you rightly for more. Men may consider you not qualified, but the God who has declared you justified thinks differently.
People may know your past, and your past may not even look good, but you have been justified in Christ. You may have made mistakes that make you judge yourself harshly, but you have been justified in Christ. When the enemy reminds you of what you did not do well in time past, remind the enemy that you have been justified. When the voice of guilt wants you to disqualify yourself, remind that voice that you belong to Jesus.
If you make yourself righteous, at best, you will only be self-righteous; but if the power of God helps you to live righteously, you are living a righteous life.
Romans 8: 30 says: “Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.”
Declare With Me: I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus; I have been divinely justified, in Jesus’ name!
