Bible Verse of the Day October 26, 2026: Psalm 90:12

“So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” (Psalm 90:12, KJV)

Meaning of the Verse

Moses prays for a clear view of how short and valuable our time is. The goal is not fear but wisdom: a heart that chooses what matters most.

“Teach us to number our days”

To number our days is to remember that each one is a gift and none is unlimited. It shifts us from drifting to choosing.

“That we may apply our hearts unto wisdom”

Wisdom is applied, not just admired. It shapes how we spend time, money, energy and attention.

Context

Psalm 90 is the only psalm attributed to Moses. It contrasts God’s eternity with the brevity of human life, then asks for God’s favour so that our work will have lasting value (verse 17).

How to Apply It Today

• Choose the three most important things for today and do them first.
• Ask yourself what you would regret leaving undone this week.
• Spend a few minutes of today on a person, not just a task.

Short Prayer

Lord, teach me to number my days. Give me wisdom to use this week well and to put You and the people I love first. Amen.
