Daily Devotional October 1, 2026: New Mercies for a New Month

Today’s Scripture: Lamentations 3:22-23

“It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”

Starting Fresh in October

A new month is a quiet invitation to begin again. Whatever last month held, whether disappointments, unanswered prayers, or unfinished plans, today is a clean page.

What the Verse Means

Jeremiah wrote these words in one of the darkest seasons of Israel’s history, in the middle of grief. He chose to remember one truth: God’s compassion has not run out.

Mercy Is Renewed Daily

You do not need to carry yesterday’s failures into today. God’s mercy is not a one-time supply. It is renewed every morning.

Faithfulness Is Not Based on Our Performance

Great is thy faithfulness” points to God’s character, not ours. He stays steady when we are not.

Reflection Questions

• What do I need to release from September?
• Where have I seen God’s faithfulness recently?

Today’s Action Step

Write down one blessing from last month and thank God for it out loud before you start work.

Closing Prayer

Lord, thank You for new mercies. Help me walk into October with faith, not fear. Amen.
