MFM Devotional for 27th May 2022 Friday Outline

Beloved, let us look further into why you need to connect to the God of Elijah. The God of Elijah is the God that answers by fire. He is the God of all possibilities. He confirms the word of His servant and performs the counsel of His messengers (Isaiah 44:26). By His Spirit and anointing, Elijah decreed that there would be neither rain nor dew except at his word. The God of Elijah established the decree.

For three and a half years, the whole nation suffered famine and drought. King Ahab and his wife, Jezebel, were helpless and had to look for Elijah to open the heavens for rain. Such is the awesome power and authority of the Lord God of Elijah.

Beloved, if you have faith in the Lord God of Elijah, you will be a terror to the enemy and his kingdom. Besides, you will rule and prosper in the midst of your enemies (Psalm 110:2b). Fire symbolises God’s presence and sometimes, His judgement. The God that answers by fire is the God that never fails.

In addition, the Lord God of Elijah provides for His children, even during famine. He exempted Elijah, His servant, from the hunger, thirst and hardship that befell the whole nation. He told him to go the brook of Cherith (which He had kept from drying up). There Elijah got regular supply of water and a raven (commanded by God) brought him food twice a day.

This proves that Elijah’s God is the God of miraculous supplies. When the brook dried up, God told Elijah to go to Zarephath and that He had commanded a widow there to feed him. No matter the downturn and recession in the global economy, the hardship people are facing in your nation or your organisation, the God of providence will supernaturally supply your needs: food, finance, clothing, shelter and all. All you need is to believe Him and call upon Him.

Moreover, the God of Elijah helps His children to succeed and finish well. Elijah did not only finish well, he also did not taste death but was transported to heaven by a chariot of fire in a whirlwind. God rewarded his faithfulness and will reward yours too!
