TOPIC: IMPORTANT TRANSITIONS OF LIFE – LOOKING AHEAD
OPENING PRAYER: Dear Lord, may the entrance of your word bring light and life to all I will do today.
SCRIPTURE: Deuteronomy 34:1 -12

TODAY MESSAGE: SCRIPTURE UNION DAILY GUIDE 17TH MARCH 2021
Look Well: We need to have 360 degree perspective of life especially at all major transition points. Before looking ahead, first Look back (and remember from where God has brought you). Then Look around (see what God is doing now, learn from others but be discerning). Look Up to God, concentrate on Him alone – His greatness, goodness and glory. After these, confidently Look Ahead into the future!
Our readings this week seem to show that Moses had taken a 360o perspective look through the writing of the song and pronouncement of the blessings, and now with calm assurance and in obedience to the Lord, he went up Mount Nebo (v.1) – knowing well that this was his final journey. What a day! Look again at vs.5&6. Why did the Lord Himself bury Moses and no one knows where he was buried? Was it to prevent the Israelites from going into idolatry?
Were they to know where their great leader was buried, would they resort to worshipping there or idolizing the tomb? Notice what the Israelites did for Moses, the man of God (v. 8). How are we to mourn our dead (1 Thess. 4:13 – 18). End Well: Take note of Moses’ ending with respect to his physical health (v.7), relationships (v.8), leadership (v.9), testimony (v.10), faithfulness to God’s calling (v.11) and focus on the glory of God (v.12).

• And So: Reflect on what you want your “life ending summary” or biography or tributes to read like.
• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?
Closing Prayer:
• Turn these reflections into prayer.
• Pray for daily devotional publishers who are helping Christians to meet God daily through bible reading and prayer.
Offer a prayer of faith in line with Proverbs 16:20
• Job 30-31; 1 Cor. 10:19-33
