Scripture Union Daily Guide 24th August 2026 Outline

Take a careful note of the transition that happens as we move from letters to the seven churches on earth in the previous chapters, to the heavenly scene in chapter 4. Have you ever asked yourself the life reflective question, “What will happen hereafter?” (Revelation 4:1, KJV). Imagine this passage as window into heaven and look carefully through it – what do you see for yourself? Make a list of them. Heaven is not imaginary, it is real. – the throne and the one seated on it; the beauty and majesty of the throne, the twenty-four thrones and those seated on them. Notice how they are dressed.

Revelation 4:5 should remind us of what the people of Israel saw on Mount Sinai when God descended on it. See Exodus 19:16. Note the presence of the Holy Spirit (Revelation 4:5). Finally, try to imagine the four living creatures. What would you suggest they represent?

These living creatures and the elders did different things as part of the worship. However, both groups worked together rather than against each other. Can’t we, in like manner, worship the Lord together, whichever denomination we belong? God’s holiness extends from the beginning to the end (Revelation 4:8). That is why His worship never ceases both day and night.
