Scripture Union Daily Guide 28 September 2026 Outline
God had promised in Isaiah 65:17; Isaiah 66:22 to create a new heaven and a new earth. The first heaven and earth would pass away. Death, mourning, crying and pain will be “no more” because they and any reason for them, will not be part of the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:2-4).
The New Jerusalem, also called a Holy City, is described as a beautiful city, as beautiful as a bride on her wedding day (Revelation 21:2-3). John said it is a prepared city (John 14:1-6). The most important thing about the city is that God, and His followers, will dwell there forever (Revelation 21:3,4). Will you be there?
The water of life is a symbol of eternal life (Revelation 21:6). Jesus gave the same invitation in John 4:7-14. It is the fullness of life with God and eternal blessing that comes with believing in God and allowing Him to satisfy our spiritual thirst.
The believers who “stand firm to the end” (Mark 13:13) are called overcomers (Revelation 21:7) and will inherit all things. Who are others in Revelation 21:8 and what will be their reward? 1 Corinthians 6:9; Revelation 2:11.
