1 Timothy 1:8-9 – “But we know that the law is good when one uses it properly, realizing that law is not made for a righteous person but for the lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinful, for the unholy and irreverent, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers.”
The Message: This scripture reminds us that God’s law is perfect and purposeful, serving as a guide for righteousness and a mirror to expose sin. The law restrains evil and convicts the disobedient, but it also points us to the grace of Christ, who empowers believers to live beyond the demands of the law through the righteousness that comes by faith.
For the believer, the law is not a burden but a standard of holiness that reflects the nature of God. Through Christ, we are called to live in freedom — not abusing grace, but walking in obedience and integrity, shining as lights in a dark world.
