Topic: Sealed And No More Delay!
Opening Prayer: Dear Lord, expose me to your truth as I read your word in Jesus name.
Scripture: Revelation 10:1‐11
Question(s) for Reflection
• What truth is God revealing to me in this passage?
• Is there any other Biblical passage that can help me understand this passage better?
God is beyond full human understanding and so there are plans and purposes of God that are not revealed to human beings (v.4). God’s will is much more than what prophecy is able to show us. There is no time that we can ever say that we understand all the purposes and plans of God. We must humble ourselves before him and be fully dependent on his leading.
The words in vs. 6 and 7 are very reassuring for the believers and should serve as an encouragement to remain faithful to the end. God’s purpose for mankind revealed to the prophets is moving to a climax and will soon be revealed. Ensure that you will be on the right side of this great point in the history of mankind. Eating the scroll is a way of showing that John has taken in the message and so God’s message in the scroll becomes John’s message (v.9).
Is God’s message your message? The message to John is sweet and sour because it is a message of judgment and blessings. We do not know all the plans that God has for us but it is good to know that very soon, the suffering of the believers will be over.
