SCRIPTURE UNION DAILY GUIDE 4 JUNE 2022 DEVOTIONAL

Topic: The Trial of Faith!

Opening Prayer: May my heart, O Lord, be receptive to your word as I meditate on it.

Scripture: Genesis 22:1‐24

Question(s) for Reflection
• What does the passage teach about God the Father, or God the Son or God the Holy Spirit?
• Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?

“This story is one of the great chapters in the Bible as it deals with the most fundamental issues of human life and the basic principles of our relationship with God,” writes Rev. John Schultz.

Abraham demonstrated an uncommon faith in God. To display such a great faith takes a man who has such trust and believe that God is above all things; that whatever or whomever we put ahead of God has to be sacrificed (given up) to truly be in right fellowship with Him! No wonder he is called the Father of faith. What lesson is there for us in vs.3&10?

Abraham obeyed and trusted God even when he did not understand. Faith is obeying God even when we do not fully understand. Faith is not based on the human sense or reasoning, but rather on the Word of God (Hebrews 11:1&6). What or who have you put ahead of God in your life? Those are idols that you must give up for an acceptable relationship with God.

Practice/Word Application
Meditation: Read and meditate on Matthew 6:24&33, Luke 9:23 and pray for grace to be wholly committed to the Lord and Him alone.

• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

Closing Prayer
• Father, please increase my faith in you, that I might please you at all times and in conditions.

Prayer for the week
• Thank God for His protection over your family. Pray for continuous safety of life and property. Pray for the provision of God for you and your family.

Offer a prayer of faith in line with
Proverbs 2:7; 1 Chronicles 14, 15; Mark 3

PRAYER OF SALVATIONA MINUTE PRAYER COULD SAVE YOU “O Lord God, I believe with all my heart in Jesus Christ, Son of the living God. I believe He died for me and God raised Him from the dead. I believe He’s alive today. I confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life from this day. Through Him and in His Name, I have eternal life; I’m born again. Thank you Lord for saving my soul! I’m now a child of God. Hallelujah!” Congratulations! You are Born Again... Get closer to God by reading your BIBLE and worshiping with other believers.
