Our Bible Verse For Today, Friday 14th February 2025
Bible Verse: “Now it came to pass, afterward, that He went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with Him, and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities—Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons, and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who provided for Him from their substance.” — Luke 8:1-3 (NKJV)
Message:
This passage highlights the important role of women in Jesus’ ministry. These women were not just followers; they were active supporters, using their resources to contribute to the work of spreading the Gospel. Their gratitude for what Jesus had done in their lives turned into faithful service, showing that everyone—regardless of background—has a part to play in God’s kingdom.
Lessons:
The Inclusive Nature of Jesus’ Ministry: (Galatians 3:28) — “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” Jesus welcomed all, regardless of gender or status.
Gratitude Leads to Service: (Romans 12:1) — “I beseech you… to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” True gratitude for God’s work in our lives inspires us to serve Him wholeheartedly.
Supporting God’s Work: (2 Corinthians 9:7) — “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” Financial and material support is also a vital ministry.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for showing us through Your Word that everyone has a role in Your kingdom. Help me to serve You with gratitude, just as the women who supported Jesus did. Open my heart to give generously—whether through time, resources, or talents—to advance the work of the Gospel. Use me for Your glory, and may my life reflect the joy of serving You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
