OPENING PRAYER: Dear Lord, I request that you help me to encounter you as I meditate on your word.
SCRIPTURE: Proverbs 19:15-29
Question(s) for Reflection:
• Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?
• Is there any command for me to obey?
• Is there any warning for me to heed?
MESSAGE: SCRIPTURE UNION DAILY GUIDE 19TH MARCH 2021 MESSAGE
What is slothfulness (v.15) and what are its consequences? Sloth is the name of an animal known for its laziness. It is said to sleep an average of 15 hours a day. Slothfulness is laziness which results in poverty and want. It also leads to lost opportunities. See also v.24. From vs.16-19, what are some of the things to which we should pay attention in our daily lives? For example, being careful to keep the Lord’s commandments and not being indifferent to the plight of the poor.
Kindness to the poor is service to God. We are to teach the right values to our children while they are still teachable. We should also watch our temper and exercise self-control. What are some of the truths brought out in vs.20-23? A wise person heeds advice. He subjects his or her plans to God’s directions. His motives are pure.

Closing Prayer:
• Lord, lead me in your righteousness, that I may walk in your truth.
