Outline For Scripture Union Daily Guide 24 March 2023

The Christian life is spiritual warfare. We become Christians when God the Father rescues us from the kingdom of darkness and transfers us into the Kingdom of His dear Son, who purchased our freedom with His blood and forgave our sins (Colossians 1:13-14). Despite this great deliverance, many African Christians in particular, sometimes fear the traditional fetish, household witches and wizards, ancestral curses, and covenants – more than their expressed faith in Christ! For many, demonic power is “sharp, sharp”, while the power of God seems slow to them.

Haman’s plan was to “destroy, kill and annihilate” the Jews (v.4), but God was on their side! In His providence, the gallows prepared for Mordecai was used to hang Haman himself (see Psalm 7:14–16). For us, Jesus assures, “the thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full” (John 10:10). Esther came before an earthly king asking, “grant me my life – this is my petition” (7:3). We stand before the King of kings! How does this passage speak to your faith in God or fear of the adversary and enemy? We all face daily circumstances that stir up faith, doubt or fear, and the choice is yours!

Practice/Word Application
Thought: Your faith or fear is a true measure of where or how your belief is grounded!

• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?

Closing Prayer
Turn 1 Peter 5:7-10 into prayer for Christian families round the world.

My God, my Rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the Horn of my salvation, my stronghold and my Refuge my Savior… -2 Samuel 22:3

► The godly fear of the Lord that leads to life and how He satisfies us as we rest fully in Him.
► For being our refuge and strength, a very present help especially in this end time.
► The Prayer team as they travel down to Benin for the National Prayer Conference

► Continuous preservation of life and property as we continue to pray and submit to His authority and leadership in all things especially in this conference.
► Financial provisions, jobs, favour and good health for our brethren especially as we continue to pray and beliive God that we continue to pray and tarry in holiness.
► Preservation and deliverance from trouble and from violent men and women in our nation and families more so as we see the day approaching.

► Loss of strength and courage to continue in prayer due to the bad news we keep hearing daily forgetting our God has promised to go with us daily.
► Joking with sin in the prayer teams thereby loosing God’s protection and letting the serpent bite.

Offer a prayer of faith in line with Jeremiah 32:27
