Scripture Union Daily Guide 3 March 2023 | Devotional

Do You Know That? Daily Guide Reading is published by Scripture Union Press & Books Ltd, an arm of Scripture Union Nigeria. Daily Guide is a true nondenominational, interdenominational Christian Bible engagement/reading aid – meditate on the Bible without denominational colorations. May the Lord bless you as you study!

Today’s Topic: What do you want me to do for you?

Opening Prayer: Lord, let the light of your word shine into my life as I meditate on your word.

Scripture: Mark 10:46-52

Question(s) for Reflection
• Q 2: Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?

Outline For Scripture Union Daily Guide 3 March 2023

Blind Bartimaeus did some remarkable things which in the end led to his healing and freedom from sitting on the roadside begging:
He acted on the news that Jesus was passing by;
He acknowledged Christ Jesus for who He really was, the Son of David, the promised Messiah
He ignored the rebukes of the crowd and concentrated on his desire to reach Jesus
He cast off his wretched clothes which were obstacles in his way and came to Christ Jesus
He gave a clear-cut answer when Christ asked him what he wanted.
When his sight was restored, he followed Jesus.

What lessons can we learn from each of these actions? The faith of the blind man was very remarkable, and he would not turn back seeking help from Christ Jesus. Our entire life in Christ is a life of faith in Him. Let us, like Bartimaeus, cast off all the worldly obstacles and focus on Christ alone.

Practice/Word Application
And So? Be focused on Christ Jesus for your complete freedom.

Closing Prayer
Lord, open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law (Psalm 119:18, ESV).
