Today’s Outline For Scripture Union Daily Guide 31 December 2022

David continues to contrast the blessings of the righteous as opposed to the fate of the wicked. Notice the way he describes how the Lord deals with those who walk in His righteousness (vs.22‐24). The Lord always saves and delivers those who trust in Him. Blessings and provisions are abundant for the righteous and his descendants. What does David teach us as he testifies to his own experience in vs.25‐26? Observe what makes the feet of the righteous firm (v.31).

How does this prompt you into right or godly action? When the righteous does what is right and hopes in the Lord, they are rewarded (vs.30,34). A future awaits them (v.37). Observe how on the contrary, the life of the wicked ends up in all kinds of troubles (vs.22b,28b,35‐36,38). Though he tries to overpower the righteous, his wicked plans are thwarted by the Lord. He falls and cannot get up and ultimately, he will be completely destroyed. There is no future for the wicked.
