TOPIC: CHRIST, THE UNCHANGEABLE PRIEST
OPENING PRAYER: Grant me depth of insight, revelation and knowledge as I meditate on this passage, O Lord.
SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 7:15 –28

TODAY’S MESSAGE: SCRIPTURE UNION DAILY GUIDE SUNDAY 7TH MARCH 2021 DEVOTIONAL
Unlike the Levitical priesthood that is temporal, Christ’s Priesthood is eternal. His life being indestructible (v.16), He lives and serves as a priest forever (vs.17, 21-24). Check vs.18-19, 20-21, and 27-28 for some other differences. How does Jesus’ example in vs 25-27 (cf. Rom. 8: 34) motivate and challenge us as leaders?
While we celebrate the awareness of Christ’s continual intercession for us, we must also realise that we are obliged to follow his example of intercessory ministry.
The ministry of intercession is a priestly calling on all believers but especially on leaders (Eph. 6: 18; 1 Tim. 2: 1 -4). Jesus’ priesthood is unlike that of the former priests who not only died and created the necessity for replacement, but also had to offer sacrifices of animals daily to appease God for the forgiveness of their own and the people’s sins.
In most African cultures, animal sacrifices are still made for deliverance from witchcraft or ill omen. This is prompted by traditional healers or witch doctors when the people consult them to solve their problems. Is this true in your situation? Christ is never honoured in this. His perfect sacrifice, a one-time sacrifice for all people and for all time, put an end to such action.
Practice/Word Application:
• And So: What difference does Jesus’ “once – for – all” sacrifice make to you in terms of your security with God and your desire to follow Christ?

Closing Prayer:
• Thank you, Lord, for offering yourself as a perfect sacrifice once and for all for our salvation and for interceding continually on our behalf.
• Pray for Full Gospel Businessmen Fellowship and such others that run ministries to professionals
Offer a prayer of faith in line with Jeremiah 17:7-8 – “Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD And whose trust is the LORD. 8. “For he will be like a tree planted by the water, That extends its roots by a stream And will not fear when the heat comes; But its leaves will be green, And it will not be anxious in a year of drought Nor cease to yield fruit.
