DAILY BIBLE VERSE September 16, 2026 – Meaning, Prayer & Life Application

🌿 Bible Verse

“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
— Psalm 23:1 (KJV)

💡 Meaning

Psalm 23:1 reminds us that God is our Shepherd. A shepherd watches over, guides, protects, and provides for the sheep. In the same way, God cares about every area of our lives.

When David says, “I shall not want,” he is expressing confidence that God is able to provide what he truly needs. It does not mean we will never face difficulties or desires; it means we can trust God to sustain us and lead us through every season.

You may be facing financial pressure, uncertainty about the future, unanswered prayers, or personal challenges today. Remember that you are not walking through life without direction. The Lord is your Shepherd, and He knows the way forward.

🙏 Prayer for Today

Heavenly Father,
thank You for being my Shepherd, my Provider, and my Guide.

Lord, lead me today in the path You have prepared for me. Give me wisdom in every decision and help me to recognize Your direction.

I surrender every worry about my needs, finances, family, work, future, and responsibilities into Your hands. Provide for me according to Your will and give me grace to trust You even when I cannot yet see the answer.

Restore my peace where anxiety has taken over. Strengthen me where I feel weak. Lead me away from wrong choices and toward opportunities that align with Your purpose.

Father, let there be no lack of what is necessary for the assignment You have given me. Bless the work of my hands, establish my efforts, and give me wisdom to manage every blessing You place in my hands.

Thank You because I am under Your care. I will not live in fear of tomorrow.

You are my Shepherd, Lord, and I choose to trust You today.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

🌱 Life Application

1. Trust God with your needs.
Instead of allowing worry to consume you, bring your needs honestly before God in prayer.

2. Follow God’s direction.
A shepherd leads the sheep. Be willing to follow God’s guidance even when His path differs from your plans.

3. Be grateful for what you already have.
Contentment helps you recognize God’s provision instead of focusing only on what is still missing.

4. Work faithfully.
Trusting God does not mean abandoning responsibility. Do your work diligently and trust Him with the results.

5. Don’t fear tomorrow.
The same God who has sustained you this far is able to continue leading and providing for you.

❤️ Today’s Reminder

You have a Shepherd.

You don’t have to know everything about tomorrow. Let God lead you one step at a time, trusting Him to provide the grace and strength you need for each day.

🙌 Today’s Declaration

I declare that the Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. I am guided, protected, sustained, and provided for by God. I will not be ruled by fear or anxiety about tomorrow. My steps are ordered by the Lord, the work of my hands is blessed, and every legitimate need is supplied according to His will. I walk today with peace, confidence, wisdom, and faith. I am not alone, because my Shepherd is with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

📖 Scripture to Carry Throughout the Day

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
— Philippians 4:19 (KJV)

As you begin your day, don’t focus only on what you lack. Look to the Shepherd who knows what you need.
