Daily Devotional October 2, 2026: Trusting God With the Unknown
Today’s Scripture: Isaiah 42:16
And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.”
When You Cannot See the Road
Most of us want the whole map before we move. God usually gives us the next step and asks us to trust Him with the rest. If you are facing a decision, a job change, a medical result or a season you did not choose, this verse is for you.
What the Verse Teaches
God Leads You Where You Have Not Been
The path is “not known” to you, but it is fully known to Him. Unfamiliar does not mean unguided.
God Changes the Terrain
He promises to turn darkness into light and crooked things into straight. He does not only walk with you, He prepares the road ahead.
God Does Not Leave Halfway
“And not forsake them” is a promise of His presence from the first step to the last.
Reflection Questions
- What unknown am I trying to control right now?
- What is the one next step God is asking me to take?
- Where has God led me before when I could not see?
Today’s Action Step
Write down the situation that worries you most, then write across it: “God is leading me through this.” Pray over it before you leave home.
Closing Prayer
Father, I cannot see the whole road, but I trust You to lead me. Turn my darkness to light and make my crooked paths straight. Amen.
