Scripture Union Daily Guide 31 March 2022 Devotional | Outline
For their disobedience, Adam and his wife began to experience separation from the Lord God Almighty. Read vs.8‐10 and note the two effects of their disobedience. Sin in us makes us want to hide from the presence of the Lord and makes us afraid to face Him. Sin separates us from God and if not dealt with, will separate us eternally from Him. See 2 Thessalonians 1:8‐9. In vs.11‐13, Adam and his wife gave excuses for their actions.
When questioned why they ate the fruit, Adam blamed the woman, the woman also blamed the serpent. Have you ever found yourself applying the blame game when you have deliberately or inadvertently done some wrong? Read vs.14‐19 carefully and examine the sentences handed down to the serpent, the woman and finally the man. How are humans serving these sentences today?
Observe that the woman’s offspring Christ Jesus, the Son of God, crushed Satan’s head at the cross of Calvary. In Christ Jesus, we have the victory over the devil. Finally, we see from vs.21‐24 God’s love for humans displayed. One is that God made more lasting garments for Adam and his wife. Find another one from vs.22‐24.
Practice/Word Application
Observe: Man’s separation from God deepens as he is driven out of the garden and prevented from taking and eating of the tree of life.
