David stresses his integrity in the strongest terms (see vs.3‐5). Integrity or innocence here is not because David is sinless (see Psalm 51:1‐2). It was not for David’s own righteousness, but because his relationship with God was such that whenever he is convicted of sin, he repents and God forgives him. There is, therefore, a continual fellowship with God. When we acknowledge our sins and confess them instead of hiding them, God writes them off and hears our prayers. Vs.7‐9: We should remind God of His promises in our prayers. See Isaiah 43:26.

However, we can only do this if we have taken time to meditate on His Word. The arrogance, scheming, and sheer wickedness of the ungodly can be mind‐boggling. See how David further describes them in vs.10‐12. Vs.13‐15: Our help is in the name of the Lord. With Jesus as Lord of our lives, we have a covenant right to plead for His intervention in our circumstances. The wicked forgets that there will be a day of reckoning. The righteous, on the other hand, can look forward to eternity with our Saviour Jesus.

Practice/Word Application
What next? Be wise. Seek that which can never be taken away from you.
• Any new insight or reinforcement of what you already know?
Closing Prayer
• Teach me to walk in your ways, for you are an ever‐present help, O God my Father.

Offer a prayer of faith in line with:
Deuteronomy 28:11; Leviticus 27, John 15, 16
