• Is there any example for me to follow or not to follow?
Scripture Union Daily Guide 9 April 2022 Devotional | Outline
Notice the actions of Jesus in this passage which show that He was completely in charge of all that was happening (see vs.16, 18, 21‐22; compare vs.10‐12)? For the institution of the Passover refer to Exodus 12:17‐21. This became a very important annual Feast for the Jews.
However, this was a special occasion as it fulfilled that which all the Passover Feasts foreshadowed, the slaying of the Lamb of God who takes away our sins. From this time onwards, it would no longer be a Feast for the Jews alone but for people of all nations who would believe in the lordship of Jesus and His redeeming grace. Whenever we celebrate this “Feast of Remembrance”, let us take seriously Paul’s warnings in 1 Corinthians 11:26‐30 and ensure that we daily live worthy of the One who shed His blood to save us from eternal death. Judas had adequate warnings and every opportunity to forsake his evil plot (vs.21‐22). Let us learn to respond promptly to the preaching of the word and the still small voice of God in us.
