Scripture Union Daily Guide 2 September 2026 Outline
As God’s special people, He made many promises to Israel. These promises cover virtually every facet of their life. From keeping of covenant, to love and multiplications, blessing of the fruit of their womb and produce of their land. Can you enumerate others from Deuteronomy 7:14-15,20,22-24? However, these promises are not without conditions. Take note of these conditions in Deuteronomy 7:12,16,25-26?
God’s promise of blessings, however, does not mean we will never face challenges in our lives. He allows some of these unpleasant things in our lives for our good. In relation to this, read again and think over Deuteronomy 7:22.
God never gives His people false impression of the enemy’s strength. We must neither underrate nor overrate our enemy. Notice what we should do and should not do as we face the enemy and why (Deuteronomy 7:18-19,21).
God’s weapons are not limited to what we can see. The hornet (Deuteronomy 7:20, NIV) or terror (NLT) and complete confusion (Deuteronomy 7:23) are some of these weapons. Pharaoh, the Egyptians and later, the Canaanites (Joshua 10:10; Judges 7:22) can testify to the reality of these abnormal weapons. We can trust God to do the same for us today as we face our enemies.
