Scripture Union Daily Guide 26th August 2026 Outline

John’s vision continued with the Lamb breaking six of the seven seals in the Book, a reference to judgment at the end of time. The breaking of each seal would bring about one form of judgment or the other on the sinful world. There would be wars, famine, death, persecution, earthquakes and general fear just as Jesus Christ had predicted (Luke 21:8-12). Such calamities are occurring today in many nations of the world and closer to us, in many African countries.

These calamities are compounded by the greed of our leaders. Note the end of such people in Revelation 6:15-17. Unfortunately, many will suffer here and for eternity (Revelation 6:15). Why?

Often, we feel that the world is collapsing on us. Whether these calamities are due to natural disasters or national sins, or both, God knows what we are going through. Our survival therefore depends on our trusting Him to lead us through and out of the difficulties.
