TODAY’S TOPIC: DON’T BE TALKED OUT
SCRIPTURE: “9. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.” (Matthew 25: 9-10)
That is the Focal Scripture of Streams of Joy Devotional today.
It is important to observe that at the beginning of our Scripture Reading, the ten virgins went with their lamps to meet the Bridegroom. Their appointment was with the Bridegroom. Notice that in our Focal Scripture, when the foolish ones no longer had oil, the wise ones told them to go and buy, and they left, and missed their appointment with the Bridegroom. They wise virgins talked them out of their meeting with the Bridegroom.
Friend, in 2023, don’t let any man talk you out of destiny. Don’t let any man use their words to disconnect you from the new season you have arrived at. Don’t let any man make you feel less than you should. Don’t allow any person to use their words to disqualify you from the doors that have been opened to you. Don’t allow anyone to make you quit because of the oil you don’t have. Don’t be talked out of destiny by those who are on a journey.
Men that are ready for their meeting with the Bridegroom are not discouraged by the words of men. Men who are truly ready for greatness are not willing to go back because of what mere mortals said. Notice that it was not even the Bridegroom that asked them not to come in because they lacked oil in their lamps. It was fellow virgins who talked them out. Don’t allow people who came for what you came for, to talk you out.
The Bridegroom was not necessarily interested in the light of the ten virgins. He was interested in having them in the feast. They would have been better off carrying lamps with oil inside, but they could have pleaded with the Bridegroom for mercy, and He wouldn’t have turned them back. If at any time in 2023, you fall short of expectations of the Bridegroom, plead for mercy, but do not shut yourself out of the marriage feast.
Keep your eyes on the goal. Forget the words of your discouragers. Don’t let anyone talk you out of destiny.
Isaiah 50: 7 says: “For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.”
Declare With Me: In 2023, no man will talk me out of destiny, in Jesus’ name!
